Well-established, local plant-based food truck in Courtenay, BC now seeking a new team member for a part time dishwasher/prep cook position. Our food truck currently operates 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm, with a steady, regular lunch crowd. Our menu includes a full coffee menu, smoothies, veggie burgers, bowls, and fresh baked goods.

MUST HAVE requirements:

friendly and customer service oriented minimum 1 year experience in a kitchen-related job familiar with and enjoy plant-based cooking and lifestyle confident working solo in the food truck highly organized and very detail oriented -- these are a MUST a flexible schedule, or working towards one, able to work a variety of evening and weekend shifts

Job details:

In charge of the full daily closing tasks of the food truck, including:

full take down and cleaning of the food truck components, top to bottom hand washing all dirty dishware in the 3-sink system cleaning and sanitizing all equipment, fridges, oven, floors, etc. refilling the fresh water tank daily, and decanting the grey water tank daily/weekly deep cleaning tasks some basic food prep, while maintaining a foodsafe kitchen counting the till and cashing out closing keyholder responsibilities, including shutdown and locking up
Wage is negotiable and based on experience, skillset and attitude, but will fall in the $18-$20 hourly range to start (plus cash tips!). Shifts will generally be 3-5 hours in length (varies daily) a few evenings per week. This could be a great fit for someone looking for an extra side gig.
