The Fickle Fig Farm Market is looking for a new kitchen trainee, with the desire to learn and strive in a farm forward functioning kitchen. No prior experience is needed for this position, but the right attitude to train under skilled chef\'s to learn the food industry is key. Weekend availability (one or both days for 5 hour shifts, or 8 hour shifts) As a member of the kitchen team with a passion for quality, local and seasonal food you will work under the kitchen manager. You will be trained for ensuring a clean and tidy workspace, while working closely with the front of house and kitchen teams. We are looking for individuals with weekend availability at this time. 12pm - 5pm on Saturday and/or Sundays. Possibility for longer shifts available. Possibility for weekday shifts. This is a unique kitchen where the menu changes each day using the freshest ingredients from our 18 acres of farmland around the Saanich peninsula. You will be responsible for cleaning and drying dishes, utensils, pots, pans, as well as have the opportunity to learn some prep and knife skills under the supervision of the kitchen manager. Skills and experience required: -No experience required, but the passion to learn is. -Positive personality with the ability to work well under pressure. -Efficient work ethic. -High level of attention to detail and cleanliness. -Be able to work independently. -Be willing and eager to learn. -Be a problem solver. -Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Successful candidates must complete a paid probationary period of three months.
