Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John's, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for a

Dishwasher

to join its growing team at The Capital Hotel in St. John's, NL The ideal candidate would possess a positive "can-do" attitude, and a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills. This often involves working in fast-paced environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or night. As our hotel operates 24 hours, seven days a week, weekend availability is required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

:

Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing area and any related equipment Assist with general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and polishing of the kitchen areas Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is required Experience as a Dishwasher, Server, or a similar role in customer service role is an asset Completion of the Safe Food Handling certificate, or willingness to obtain Thorough knowledge of industry standards for hygiene and safety regulations Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask Ability to work well both independently and as a part of a team
