Job SummaryWhat is the opportunity?As a Director, Workplace Transformation, you will help develop the vision, objectives and overall workplace strategy for RBC. As Director, Workplace Transformation you will manage the workplace transformation governance which will be multi-faceted including CRE governance across our regional structures, wider internal RBC stakeholder governance working in partnership with HR, T&O and platform/business key stakeholders to foster collaboration as ONE RBC and ensure we achieve our goals. In addition, you will manage the workplace program communications and change management activities that provides awareness of our plans, progress against plan, providing integral support to navigate through the change all while generating excitement for our workplace strategy. This role will report into the Head of Global Workplace.What you will do?Workplace Vision, Objectives and Strategy

  • Define and implement a workplace vision, set of objectives and underlying enterprise strategy that includes options and recommendations.
  • Complete detailed base case analysis on use of our current portfolio, and options showing various degrees of change/transformation and the associated benefits & risks
  • Partner with extended CRE workplace team and regions to cascade enterprise strategy at a market/regional level to ensure clear understanding of our enterprise goals working in partnership as ONE CRE
Governance and Program Management
  • Design and develop the multi-faceted governance program that considers i) CRE internal governance ii) Executive stakeholder governance within CRE/CLAO iii) Executive stakeholder governance outside CRE/CLAO covering HR, T&O, Enterprise Strategy, Finance, COO community and other key stakeholder groups (i.e. Business representation)
  • Management to overall scope, schedule and budget through relevant and insightful management reporting
  • Establish workplace transformation targets and scorecard to measure performance to be used at enterprise level and also reported by regions/markets
  • Implement the controls and program management framework aligned to RBC's Project Management Office guidelines and aligned to enterprise delegation of authority
  • Accountable to ensure the deployment of leading industry practices related to enterprise program delivery
  • End to end enterprise program management taking into account strategy, design, planning, experience, occupancy, regional engagement, technology, reporting and more
Holistic Workplace Management
  • Holistically manage the enterprise workplace plan working with regional & functional teams within CRE and beyond that covers 1) on-site office strategy/approach, 2) enterprise workforce location strategy aligned to business strategies and the implications to our corporate real estate portfolio, 3) proactive management of upcoming lease expiries, including options and recommendations for GE and 4) development and management of global workplace experience program working in partnership with HR and other stakeholders
  • Break down siloes that exist to ensure a ONE RBC approach.
Relationship Management
  • Coordination across Workplace CRE and Regional teams to drive alignment to enterprise workplace strategy.
  • Derive maximum efficacy from the Service Partner collaboration with the location strategy and/or market planning teams as required.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and act to maintain or improve it, as necessary.
Culture of Innovation
  • Foster a culture of workplace innovation to continuously improve, aligned with industry best practices and elevate the workplace experience.
  • Obtain best practice information on workplace design standards, location strategy models, workplace technology, trends in the industry and other frameworks to support RBC with the development and management of the enterprise program.
  • Partner with leading 3rd parties/experts as required to promote culture of innovation.
Workplace communications and change management.
  • Develop multi-channel communications approach (RBC connect, newsletters, executive sponsor communications and more) to effectively engage.
  • Design and oversee change program as required based on degree of change.
What you need to succeed?Must Have
  • 10+ years of corporate real estate and/or management consulting experience with at least 3 years in a senior capacity
  • Influential leader with strong business and financial acumen
  • Strong clients focus and responsiveness to business needs, while influencing change agenda (where required) to achieve enterprise goals.
  • Highly proficient communication and presentation skills including executive engagement.
  • Experience in supplier and contract management.
  • University Degree in Business, Finance Engineering, Design, or equivalent experience
  • MBA highly desired.
  • Business case preparation financial analysis, modelling, complex program management.
