This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Alberta, AB.

Here\'s where you\'ll be focusing:

As a Director Technology Strategy & Innovation with Sobeys, you will:

• Drive development of integrated technology, data, and analytics strategy in support of overall company strategic and financial objectives with Technology team.
• Manage third party engagement to support development of Technology strategy.
• Develop materials to communicate strategy and key technology initiative progress to Executive team and Board.
• Support identification and assessment of opportunities across Technology team to increase efficiency / performance and reduce costs.
• Facilitate Artificial Intelligence (AI / Machine Learning / Gen AI) strategy and execution.
• Manage annual business review (ABR) process for Technology function to ensure strategy is embedded in priorities across all areas of the Technology team.
• Ensure Technology strategy is embedded into individual product and team roadmaps (with Technology Road Mapping and Solutions teams).
• Provide central oversight and relationship management of major technology vendors and third party contractors.
• Drive innovation approach, identify high priority innovation opportunities, and support execution of opportunities across Technology portfolio (with Solutions teams).
• Identify and develop relationships with external partners who can add value through technology innovation.
• Drive communications strategy and deployment to ensure buy in for Technology strategy and priorities from relevant business leaders.
• Foster digital product awareness and fluency in business.
• Identify and support assessment of medium to long-term opportunities to structurally lower overhead of technology function (with Director, Enterprise Architecture).
• Identify high priority innovation opportunities to invest in (with Solutions Directors).

What you have to offer:

Your experience and resume will show us:

• An undergraduate or master\'s degree in computer science or business.
• 12+ years experience, including management of technology strategy for a large enterprise.
• Strategy consulting and technology background, with a preference for retail-specific experience.
• Strong executive presence and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Strong understanding of how different technology & analytical products can add value in a retail business; direct digital product or IT experience a plus.
