A&A is mandated to provide independent and objective assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of CPP Investments\' internal controls and governance processes. As a part of our team, you will be responsible for leading engagement teams and working collaboratively with our business and technology partners to help instill robust risk and control discipline across our investment and supporting activities. You will provide experience, technical knowledge, and leadership to evolve the perceived value of our expertise across the organization.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:

Audit Planning & Execution
  • Contribute to A&A\'s annual planning activities and help develop the Annual A&A Plan, in particular for technology and data related focus areas.
  • Develop and/or review testing programs for audit engagements; Test the design and operating effectiveness of IT controls.
  • Responsible for testing and/or review of IT general controls (network, operating systems, application(s) and database(s) and user developed applications).
  • Responsible for script- based testing and/or review (application controls, key reports, data conversion).
  • Leverage data and scripts to perform control testing and/or develop insights on engagements.
  • Identify control weaknesses, formulate related audit findings, and audit reports for issuance to respective stakeholders (Management and Audit Committee).
  • Provide advisory services as planned, while maintaining appropriate objectivity and credibility, with the goal of meeting and/or exceeding management expectations.
  • Optimize resource staffing to deliver our work in the most effective and efficient manner possible while maintaining appropriate quality of work.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior auditors, ensuring timeliness and quality of audit engagement deliverables.
  • Ensure engagements are completed objectively, professionally, and in accordance the Institute of Internal Auditors International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
Relationship Building
  • Oversee and collaborate with engagement team members to plan and execute assurance and advisory activities as required.
  • Foster and maintain effective working relationships and open lines of communication with key stakeholders (internal and external) on assigned engagements to achieve optimal value from work performed.
Qualifications

Education & Professional Certifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Information Technology and related field or equivalent experience
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation and/or one or more of the following designations: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); other relevant professional designations are a plus (CFA, CBV, PMP, CISA etc.)
Professional Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Consulting, Internal/External audit, and/or Risk Management at complex financial institutions or investment/asset management companies.
  • Broad and deep knowledge and experience in the technology and operations that support investment/ asset management companies and strong understanding of the risk implications of the technology and operations on the business.
  • Excellent knowledge of audit methodologies, Information Technology frameworks, project management and risk management practices preferably in the investment management or related financial services areas.
  • Experience in the use of Data & Analytics for auditing, I.e., scoping, scrip-based testing, and visualization.
  • Knowledge in Information & Cybersecurity and Robotic Process Automation frameworks and controls.

  • Strong judgment and creativity; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to effectively process a large volume of information and draw meaningful/persuasive conclusions.
  • Proven ability to build and foster professional relationships and influence others effectively at the management and staff levels.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business needs and priorities with strong attention to detail with proven consistency.
  • Strong organizational/project management skills, the ability to manage and achieve multiple deadlines, both internal and external.
