What you will be doing:

Director of Strategy will elevate performance of business operations for Chief Executive Officer of Tangerine Bank through strategic planning, business prioritization, clear communication, relationship building with internal and external stakeholders, and enhanced business reporting.

Reporting to the CEO, Tangerine Bank, and working with the CB senior leadership team, the role provides strategic guidance and supports special projects, communications, and reporting. As a subject matter expert of the CB business, this role is a key liaison for business heads, enterprise strategy teams and committees. The Director, Strategy helps facilitate presentations and employee events for the CEO, internal and external quarterly reporting for the CB business, and ongoing strategic updates to the Tangerine Board of Directors.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead efficiency and focus on effective time-management to CEO by managing multiple business priorities and weekly/monthly/quarterly engagements, including responsibility for planning for CEO
business trips and external engagements
  • Lead the ownership of agenda and content management/consolidation for bi-weekly and monthly management meetings, working closely with Communications, Strategy, Finance, and business partners
  • Working closely with partners in the businesses and corporate functions, ensure all meeting materials,agendas, briefing notes, contracts, presentations, and correspondence are of a high quality and standard
  • Partner with Communications partners to draft internal communications in memo format to various stakeholders (i.e. management team, customers, suppliers, partners) from CEO
  • Facilitate 2-way flow of information between CEO business partners, and management regular reporting and dissemination of business highlights and KPIs (management team, Office of the CEO, Board of Directors, Strategy, Communications, Human Resources, Finance)
  • Understand strategic goals and priorities to help align and provide input to various partners and businesses across Canadian Banking
  • Contribute to business projects by tracking status, progress, and contributing to various projects and initiatives happening across the Canadian businesses
  • Partner with Executive Assistant and Support partners to build high performance and customer oriented environment in Canadian Banking executive office

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We\'d love to work with you if you have:
  • Strong project management with experience in project planning and tracking techniques, objectives setting, planning, coordination and development of supporting business materials
  • Retail and Commercial Banking industry knowledge (preferred)
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in the disciplines of Business Management or Communications.
  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with senior executives and others in the organization
  • Organizational and administrative agility; developed and superior negotiation skills.
  • A sense of ownership, commitment to ongoing improvement and ability to proactively anticipate problems and implement solutions
  • Ability to work calmly and intentionally under pressure, and confidently interact with executives.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and appreciation for discretion
