Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to oversee strategy and execution within our Specialty & Rare Disease portfolio across Canada. This role is responsible for driving cross-functional strategies across sales, marketing, and medical functions, while managing full P&L accountability for assigned products. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience, scientific fluency, and a passion for building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and external partners. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape portfolio growth and improve patient outcomes in niche therapeutic areas.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales, marketing, and medical strategies for the Specialty & Rare Disease portfolio in alignment with the company's overall objectives.
  • Assume full P&L responsibility for assigned products, including revenue forecasting, cost management, margin optimization and profitability, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with HCPs (Healthcare Professionals), KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) and stakeholders, effectively communicating the scientific and clinical value of the portfolio.
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of managers to ensure that sales strategies and targets are consistently achieved.
  • Provide continuous feedback, mentoring, and professional development to team members.
  • Develop medical assets and lead consultation meetings as required.
  • Effectively manage departmental budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation and return on investment (ROI).
  • Monitor team performance, preparing and presenting timely sales and marketing reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements and challenges.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with regulatory, supply chain, and market access teams in both Canada and the U.S. to ensure a unified approach to product positioning.
  • Foster strong collaborations with external business partners, aligning strategies and coordinating efforts across medical, marketing, and sales functions to ensure mutual success.
  • Analyze sales performance and market trends using KPIs, identify gaps, and adapt strategies to optimize growth and market share.
  • Conduct market research to understand competitive dynamics, trends, and customer insights to inform product positioning and campaign development.
  • Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations, ethical standards, and company policies in all related activities.
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
  • University degree in business, science, or a relevant field and 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing.
  • Proven people management experience with a strategic mindset and executional focus.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams; strong leadership behaviors, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • In-depth understanding of hospital procurement processes.
  • Strong medical knowledge and scientific understanding.
  • Experience in medical affairs and/or medical education is preferred.
  • Experience in specialty therapeutic areas (e.g., rheumatology) and rare diseases (e.g., neurosurgery) is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • High performance orientation, professionalism, and accountability.
Additional Information:
  • Location: Remote with up to 30% travel
  • Base salary: 175-200K CAD
  • Eligible to participate in the company's annual Bonus Program, based on personal and company targets.
  • Eligible to participate in the company's Equity Incentive Plan.
