The Account Specialist, Rare Disease, will contribute to Ipsen\xe2\x80\x99s overall sales objective by performing assigned sales related activities, including product launch. The preferred candidate will have strong, demonstrated selling, persuasion and influence skills, institutional based-selling skills, key account management experience and excellent cross functional collaboration. The candidate will provide physicians, pharmacists and healthcare professionals with products, services, and information that will enable them to prescribe and use Ipsen\xe2\x80\x99s products safely and effectively. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing their assigned territory and administrative requirements in an efficient manner and will maintain compliance with drug laws, regulations, and Ipsen\xe2\x80\x99s internal policies in the execution of their job responsibilities.Your territory will include Alberta and Saskatchewan. Preference is for candidates located in Calgary and Edmonton.Main Responsibilities / Job ExpectationsThe general job responsibilities assigned to the Account Specialist are as follows:Deliver the sales objective for assigned products as determined by Ipsen management, including product launch objective(s)Consistently target, develop, maintain, and sell to existing customers and accounts, including accessing difficult-to-see customers on a regular basisRoutinely identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned territoryExecute calls on Physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to provide disease state, product information, and to ensure appropriate use of all productsDevelop a comprehensive, territory-specific business plan which includes strategies and tactics aimed at achieving annual sales goals set by managementAct as the liaison between members of the patient\xe2\x80\x99s Circle of Care (HCPs, Allied Health Professionals, Nurses, Pharmacists), facilitating connections, information-sharing, and enabling timely patient careWork with cross-functional internal partners (Medical Affairs, Stakeholder Relations, Market Access, PSP) to create, design, and implement local programs and value-added initiatives in response to stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 needs (subject to Ipsen and external guidelines)Leverage approved scientific and clinical data to engage in evidence-based conversations with physicians and other healthcare professionalsMap the local patient journey to identify opportunities to shorten the pathway to appropriate care for undiagnosed and misdiagnosed patientsMaintain a high degree of competence in the areas of product knowledge, disease state knowledge, and industry knowledge impacted by IPSEN productsComply with all deadlines including territory information requests, project assignments and other requests by various company departmentsSubmit accurate and timely expense reports, maintain accounts records, and submit timely and thorough account and territory reportsComplete all required training courses and continually update product knowledgeComply with all provincial and federal laws, regulations and guidelines including Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC) Code of Ethical Practices on interactions with Healthcare Professionals as well as complying with all Ipsen\xe2\x80\x99s standards and policies relating to all job activitiesReport any potential adverse events/safety information or products complaints for Ipsen products to the Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance department, per company requirementsKnowledge, abilities & experienceMinimum of 2 years of sales experience required, with preference for Specialty Pharmaceutical experience.5+ years in pharmaceutical or biotech industry an assetExperience in Rare Disease (liver) an assetStrong preference for relationships with existing customer base (hepatologists, gastroenterologists, internal medicine specialists)Start-up or launch experience preferredPlanning and organizational skills with experience in managing multiple stakeholders/prioritiesDemonstrated selling, persuasion and influence skillsDemonstrated ability to proactively uncover and address customer needs, design and lead local initiatives, and drive change at the local levelDemonstrated ability to understand, confidently communicate and leverage scientific information (clinical studies, PK / PD, disease state, mechanism of action) with HCPsStrong cross-collaborator and demonstrated team playerExcellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skillsAbility to build strong relationshipsComputer proficiency is requiredValid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a good driving record are required (no more than three moving violation convictions within the past three years)Ipsen Biopharmaceuticals Canada Inc. welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
