What is the opportunity?



As Director, Sourcing Execution, Commercial Banking, you will be responsible for the development of sourcing and savings/cost avoidance strategies while ensuring a sustainable supply chain to support RBC businesses, and optimizing total value generated from RBC's supplier base. This role executes and manages procurement needs by building a vision and road map to diagnose our client requirements and supplier capabilities. The Director, Sourcing Execution leads a team of sourcing practitioners in negotiating non-complex (low risk) and complex (high value/high risk) deals. This role is essential in strengthening relationships with business unit clients and suppliers as well as ensuring solutions are developed and delivered on time and against operational and financial business targets.

What will you do?



Leads interactions across executives; understands and influences the stakeholder groups and decision makers Develops guidelines to support the management of stakeholder relationships. Establish strategic direction for the sourcing and procurement organization that supports enterprise and business unit long range plans. Leads the plan to gather data, assesses opportunities at the enterprise level, for change, enhancements and/or develop recommendations on overall supplier and category strategy to align to broader enterprise initiatives. Liaise with the business to secure buy into the strategy. Make decisions on controversial or sensitive procurement evaluation activities and processes. Leverage diligent contract preparation and effective negotiation skills, lead complex deal negotiations to reach the best agreement for the organization and the supplier (on the right quality, quantity, cost, timing and source of supplies, materials, and services): Ensure that employees understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviours that align to RBC's Leadership Model. Leverage the value in unit, department, and enterprise-wide teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross enterprise mindset

What do you need to succeed?




Must have:



10+ years' experience in global procurement, sourcing and relationship management Experience in leading and supporting a team of sourcing practitioners including managing stakeholder interactions/relationships Leadership and management skills in implementing Strategic Sourcing plans or initiatives on an enterprise level Strong Business and Financial Acumen Leading complex deals with a total contract value of $10 Million or more Strong grasp of procurement law and/or regulations

Experience working with Contract and Procurement software such as Coupa and iValua Procurement experience specific to IT segment, Professional Services, and Software related products Building deal summaries and presentations to review with senior and executive level leaders People management skills specific to providing guidance and coaching to help build team capabilities
