What We Need
We are looking for a software engineering leader who will drive the delivery of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements in our software.


Job Duties
  • Ensure that your stream-aligned teams deliver effectively on their roadmap items.
  • Maintain healthy, engaged teams and team members.
  • Collaborate with our Principal Software Architect to create and promote a modern architecture.
  • Drive improvements in our ways of working to get software to market in better, faster ways.
  • Coordinate with Architecture and Product Management on the technical and product roadmaps.
  • Along with CTO and VP of Software Engineering, be the face of software engineering to customers and prospects.



Knowledge and Skills
The successful applicant will show maturity in the following competencies.

  • Change leadership
  • Building software in a modern tech stack, using technologies and approaches such as React, Node, Postgres, Kafka, Kinesis, Elasticsearch, microservices, micro frontends, etc.
  • Leading geographically distributed teams
  • Applying patterns such as strangler fig to modernization efforts
  • Tracking and improving productivity of teams and team members
  • Staying in touch with how the "state of the practice" is evolving and bringing innovative ideas to the table
  • Talking with customers and prospects in a poised and professional manner



Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of varied hands-on software engineering experience.
  • 4+ years managing teams
  • (Bonus) 2+ years as a manager of managers



Reports To: Vice President of Software Engineering
Location: Remote in Canada
Position Type: Full-time
