Artistic SupportFull-Time/Permanent Position

THE ROLE



As the

Quality Director - Shows

, you will play a strategic leadership role in safeguarding and elevating the artistic and operational quality of Cirque du Soleil's live performances. In partnership with the Senior Director - Show Quality, you will oversee the planning, governance, and operational execution of artist performance standards across all shows. You will be the voice and will represent show quality in any given circumstance. You'll oversee a team that support and provide services to all artists passing through our International Headquarters (IHQ) - ensuring every artist is prepared to deliver excellence on stage.



YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Show Quality Leadership & Governance

Partner with the Senior Director - Show Quality to define and implement governance frameworks and performance standards for shows worldwide. Ensure consistent application of quality principles across artist performance, coaching, costumes, and performance medicine. Align departmental strategy with broader organizational goals and creative direction. Define, own and be accountable to the budget, timeline and execution of show refreshes. Guardian of Show quality on refreshes, show evolution and creative development. Centralize all requests from the Shows to Reserve Conceptuelle, challenge ADs and act as first approver. Manage resources that are affected to refreshes and show evolutions. Build and prepare refresh business cases with impact analysis. Following the decision of a show evolution, plan and execute the evolution. Oversee the work of the conceptors;

Operational Oversight

Oversee operations related to artists transiting through IHQ for training and development, including timelines, resource planning, and program delivery. Lead planning and coordination of training capacity in collaboration with key departments (Coaching, Performance Medicine, Casting, etc.). Ensure optimal scheduling and use of internal facilities and personnel to support artist development and show readiness.

Team Leadership

Manage and develop a multidisciplinary Show Quality team: supervise, coach, and support direct reports to foster growth and excellence. Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Budget & Resource Management

Manage departmental budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting of expenses. Ensure effective allocation of human and material resources across all projects and priorities. Monitor performance against budget and adjust resource deployment as needed.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

Work closely with departments such as Performance Medicine, Coaching, Casting, and Show Management to coordinate workforce planning and project assignments. Act as a liaison between IHQ and show teams to ensure alignment on standards, expectations, and support needs.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum 8-10 years of leadership experience in live entertainment, theatre, circus arts, or related fields. Proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced, high-performance environments. Strong expertise in budget management, resource planning, and operational execution. Demonstrated ability to lead with both artistic sensitivity and business acumen. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. High degree of adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage ambiguity in a creative environment. Bilingual (French and English) - oral and written proficiency required.
