Job Title Director, Security Solution Architecture, (GCS)



What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Director, Security Solution Architecture, the Director, Security Solution Architecture will be leading the architecture design of major Cyber Security transformational initiatives and large complex portfolios to ensure the alignment of business objectives/requirements, technology, and cybersecurity strategies. You will be a technical leader, contributing thought leadership on a wide range of cybersecurity domains and translating that into security solution architectures.

The ideal candidate will have industry-relevant experience, qualifications, and certifications in cyber security and security solutions architecture, including deep subject matter expertise spanning multiple security domains. The candidate must be a good communicator, with the ability to clearly articulate, negotiate and represent Security Solutions Architecture to ensure key security attributes are incorporated into the final solution design.

What will you do?

  • Provide solution architecture technical leadership across major cyber security transformational initiatives to ensure solution designs that are secure, extensible, scalable and resilient.
  • Oversee and provide insight and guidance on key technical decisions as needed, partnering with other technical experts where required to ensure security architecture requirements are adequately accounted for in program/project planning.
  • Lead and participate as a security SME in various technical architecture review boards, approving architectural decisions made on programs and projects.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the security landscape to consult and provide direction on the design and conceptual architectures of cutting-edge and next-generation security capabilities.
  • Establish and build credibility with stakeholders and senior leaders in order to provide representation that is seen as professional, positive and credible.
  • Work in collaboration as a trusted partner to ensure that projects are planned, managed and executed in alignment with the functional strategy and goals.
  • Manage various global stakeholders across levels (including executives) and engage in business development and resolution of operational risk issues.
  • Build and manage effective relationships with key project stakeholders, team members, and other business, functional and support groups. Liaise with third party suppliers as appropriate.
  • Manage risks, leveraging support from RBC SMEs and escalating to management as required.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:
  • 7 or more years of demonstrated experience in security solutions architecture or enterprise security architecture
  • Demonstrated expertise across a broad range of information / cyber security domains, including strong knowledge and experience in security architecture and security solutions architecture.
  • Demonstrated security architecture expertise in the following areas: Network security (including zero trust access, secure access service edge, micro-segmentation), endpoint security, application security and cloud security
  • Demonstrated ability to consult and to lead on complex change management concepts and strategies, with a proven track record to deliver analyze and conceptualize data to meet research objectives and develop powerful business insights.
  • Ability to partner effectively with diverse stakeholders, including technology teams and supplier, on complex projects with excellent consultancy/advisory, facilitation, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
