Job Summary



What is the opportunity?

Strategically partners with internal teams and critical third-party application vendors to deliver proof of concept, key tools and utilities to govern SaaS. In the past, many of these application providers were deployed on-premises, where RBC controlled much of the deployment, operational, and security implications. RBC ensured they were deployed with a best practice, secure, resilient manner, leveraging industry-leading practices to address RBC\'s risk standards. However, we are in the midst of a fundamental shift in the industry. These third party application providers are moving to new as a Service delivery models (e.g., Software as a Service), which poses a new set of opportunities, challenges, and risks to RBC.

The Director of SaaS Delivery will be responsible for delivering SaaS governs tools and setting the SaaS delivery standards, technical vision, drive the SaaS delivery standards, patterns, best practices and ensure the technical design of the SaaS landscape for the Enterprise.

This role will partner closely with RBC stakeholders in Application Development, SaaS Architecture, Cyber Security, Cloud, Risk, and Internal & External Delivery teams to enable effective SaaS delivery best practices and sound design principles across the entire SaaS lifecycle. In addition, they will support the design, build and transition to our new SaaS automated governance capabilities, specifically around security, operations and data. We are looking for people who can create a culture of transparency, trust, and teamwork and help our engineering teams reach their potential and have fun. As a SaaS Delivery Director, you will manage multiple engagements and align them to the team goals.

What will you do?

This position requires excellent technical skills as well as outstanding analytical, leadership and influencing skills paired with solid business acumen.

It is a cross-functional leadership role that requires consensus building and communication with all levels in the organization.

Implement a SaaS architecture framework, with supporting processes to ensure third party solutions are in line with RBC\xe2\x80\x99s business, technology, security and regulatory requirements.

Maintain a range of SaaS security practices, capabilities, processes and tools to identify and assess SaaS security for weaknesses that could be exploited by external and insider threat actors.

Design, implement utilities, and tools to help with automating the governance processes at scale.

Driving research, case studies and prototypes on leading edge technologies and how they can be leveraged

Designing proof-of-concept pilots and working closely with technical leads to drive successful POC implementations

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves

Total IT experience of at least 15 of which at least 5 years delivering Solutions

Needs to have breadth and depth of experience in Network, Security, Data

Must have a track record of building and deploying mission critical, highly distributed, large scale SaaS applications

Must have demonstrable experience designing end-to-end solution involving mobile systems, embedded software and cloud services

Must have experience with at least one major IaaS and/or PaaS technology (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Heroku, etc.) including defining and scripting full topologies and infrastructure and related technologies (hardware, virtualization, networking)

Must have strong knowledge of failure modes, resiliency patterns, and techniques to enable robust, self-healing architecture

Experience with at least one and preferably more than one of the programming languages C#, C++, Java, JavaScript
