Magna Mining Inc. is a Sudbury-focused, base metal exploration and development company.



Magna Mining's key objective is to become the next nickel and copper producing company in Canada by executing a growth strategy that is focused exclusively on the historic nickel producing district of Sudbury, ON.



We intend to achieve this objective via the creation of a Sudbury focused, hub and spoke production model, with our existing Shakespeare project as the hub. The path to the creation of a significant new battery metals producing Canadian company is to execute a long term, multi-faceted growth strategy.







The Director, Projects is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of all projects at Magna Mining Inc., ensuring that the company's portfolio of capital and operational projects is aligned with long-term business objectives, shareholder value creation, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction for the entire project portfolio, ensuring that all projects are prioritized, sequenced, and executed in alignment with Magna Mining's corporate strategy, ESG commitments, and long-term growth targets. Translate organizational objectives into actionable project strategies that support profitability, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage. Serve as a key advisor to the executive team and Board on project economics, valuations, and risk-adjusted investment decisions. Establish and oversee project portfolio management practices, ensuring that resources are allocated to maximize shareholder value, manage risks, and capture strategic opportunities. Lead the evaluation of project proposals and feasibility studies, ensuring robust assessment of financial returns (NPV, IRR), operational feasibility, and environmental/social impacts. Drive disciplined capital allocation by ensuring projects meet defined investment thresholds and strategic priorities. Provide executive oversight of large-scale capital projects, ensuring disciplined planning, budgeting, and execution methodologies are applied consistently across the organization. Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-level risk management strategies across all projects, including technical, financial, environmental, and regulatory risks. Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards, particularly in areas of mining operations, environmental management, and resource estimation. Provide the executive team with forward-looking risk analyses to support informed decision-making and proactive mitigation. Act as a senior representative of the company in interactions with regulatory agencies, government officials, Indigenous communities, external consultants, joint venture partners, and investors. Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders to advance project approvals, secure permits, and foster trust in the company's project execution capabilities. Partner with internal senior leadership across departments to ensure integrated project planning and execution. Lead the development and oversight of multi-year project budgets, ensuring efficient and responsible use of capital. Monitor project financial performance, providing executive-level insights into cost variances, forecast adjustments, and capital efficiency. Ensure that financial reporting related to projects is transparent, accurate, and aligned with corporate governance standards. Oversee completion of advanced technical and economic studies for mining projects, guiding evaluations of mining methods, production processes, infrastructure needs, and financial viability. Ensure the integrity of resource and reserve estimates, aligning technical assessments with regulatory and reporting standards. Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for executive and Board decision-making. Mentor and develop future leaders within the Projects function, ensuring succession planning and talent readiness. Drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring project teams are effectively integrated with other stakeholders across Magna Mining.

Requirements




Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

Post-secondary education in Mine Engineering, Geology, Mineral Resource Management, or a related field. MBA, Master's degree, or equivalent advanced education in project management, finance, or business administration is considered an asset. PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent project management certification is preferred.


Work Experience: Nature & Length

15 or more years of progressive project management experience in mining, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role.


Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills

Proven track record in delivering large-scale capital projects, from feasibility through execution, in complex regulatory and stakeholder environments. Extensive experience in financial modeling, project valuation, and investment analysis (NPV, IRR, payback). Demonstrated ability to manage portfolios of multiple concurrent projects, balancing strategic priorities and resource constraints. Experience working with regulatory bodies, Indigenous communities, and external stakeholders in the mining sector. Proficient with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and geological modeling software (e.g., Vulcan, Surpac, Datamine). Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities. Deep understanding of mining project economics, resource estimation, and feasibility studies.
