Permanent Full Time-Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the Toronto, ON, London, ON, or Winnipeg, MB office.Role DescriptionThe Director of Product Support and Management is responsible for supporting our Workplace Solutions Life and Health product shelf. Overseeing the Product Support team, they are charged with monitoring the performance of our products, which includes responding to the evolving legislative environment, market trends, customer expectations, competitive threats and advancements in healthcare technologies related to our products.They will work with multiple stakeholders and business partners from across the industry and within the Canada Life organization. They will partner closely with our sales teams in addressing product customization and modernization to support our customers evolving needs. Integral to their role is the ability to understand the emerging legislative and compliance landscape, advocating for the Canada Life position within external working groups and building key partnerships across the industry. The Director will also be a key driver of ideas and roadmap planning for enhancing our products and service offering into the future.What you will do

  • Provides oversight and direct leadership of the Workplace Solutions Life Health Product Support team.
  • Guides the Product Support team to provide support for product/services-related questions, both from internal sales partners and other internal stakeholders such as legal, underwriting, administration teams and operational areas.
  • Regular updates to the compliance and legislative landscape, and how they contribute to or detract from our current portfolio. Analyzes impacts, plans and strategizes appropriate response and execution of any required changes.
  • Collaborate and support shaping the future Workplace Solutions product roadmap and benefit modernization work.
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external partners, such as third party vendors, pharmaceutical manufacturers, Healthcare technology organizations, regulators and other industry participants.
  • Support the coordination and development of internal and external facing communications for environmental, product and program changes. Including responding to media inquiries.
  • Oversee the maintenance of reference material related to products and services, including internal product documentation and marketing materials.
  • Some travel requirement: up to 10% (within Canada).
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • 7-10 years in the financial services industry, preferable working within Group Benefits/Retirement benefits space, specific experience in managing products an asset.
  • Post-Secondary degree in Business or a related field of study.
  • Cross-functional knowledge/expertise; understanding balance of customer experience, customer needs and financial drivers of business success. Demonstrates ability to translate client needs into a plan that will support future business growth.
  • Understands how to deliver messages that will initiate action.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong pulse on emerging market trends. Can spot market trends, synthesize and anticipate next steps of competition, and adapt partner goals to align with our own.
  • Has keen critical eye to spot opportunities to differentiate our organization in the market.
  • Strong creative thinking skills to determine unique ways to deliver on unmet customer needs.
  • Creatively overcome obstacles and partner to bring about successful outcomes for all stakeholders.

-The base salary for this position is between $89,800 - $166,300 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
