The Director, Product Marketing Strategy leads the Product Marketing Strategy team and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive product marketing strategy for Nutrien\'s portfolio of fertilizer and industrial products, with particular emphasis on specialty lines such as ESN and MAP+MST. Primary objective is to lead the development and implementation of strategies that increase Nutrien\'s products market share, revenue, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement product marketing strategies that drive sales growth, market share, profitablility and enhance environmental performance of Nutrien\'s upstream products (GHG reduction, water use efficiency, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Product Development (NPK and Retail) to identify and develop novel product opportunities that can reduce downstream emissions from nitrogen applications
  • Develop product marketing strategies that consider long term product utiliaztion in agriculture that materially reduces downstream GHG emissions from nitrogen fertilizer use (i.e. alternatives to untreated urea applications)
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify product opportunities and develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our customers, shareholders and broader community stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (Sales, Product Management, Agronomy) to develop and execute product launches, including creating product features and benefit messaging, positioning and go to market strategy; regularly review exisiting product go to market strategies, seeking input from stakeholders such as Sales and customers; create effective sales enablement and marketing tools and training programs that assist them with selling our products more effectively
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify market trends, threats, and opportunities for Nutrien\'s products and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of product marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed to optimize results
  • Accountable to develop and support execution of external communications strategy and tactics, including traditional and digital media, PR, tradeshows, and branding campaigns
  • Manage a team of product marketing and communications professionals, providing leadership guidance and mentorship to enable growth and excellence in their roles
  • Work directly with key stakeholders; Sales, Product Management, Agronomy, Transportation, Distribution and Logistics teams to integrate common vision for Nutrien\'s strategic direction and maximize downstream value for specialty/differentiated products.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, marketing, economics, agronomy or engineering is required.
  • 10-15 years\' product management, Sales or market analysis experience with a solid business acumen of Nutrien\'s products, which would include financial analysis, fertilizer and industrial end use knowledge.
  • Knowledge or experience with ag tech, emerging trends in farming practices or energy transition from fossil fuels would be considered an asset

  • Strong communication skills are a MUST, to work across the various groups.
  • Exceptional communication skills are critical.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization and collaborate on joint execution of Nutrien\'s strategic plan.
  • Must have strong accumen in analyzing data, market trends and customer needs to identify product opportunities, develop product postioning and create effective marketing strategies
Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range US $143,920 - $197,890 This range is estimated for the Director, Product Marketing Strategy in Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan(s), which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
