Reporting to the VP, Assistant General Counsel - Commercial, you will be strategic, analytical and experienced in managing sourcing/procurement teams. You will lead the procurement department at Lightspeed, specializing in developing and meeting strategic imperatives for the department, implementing the efficient and cost-effective purchase of goods and services by stakeholders across the company, overseeing an effective PO process, and managing the day-to-day workload, responsiveness and development of your team members.

What you\'ll be responsible for

  • Overseeing all of the purchases in the company, ensuring they get done in a timely, responsive and cost-efficient manner.
  • Directly managing purchase requests of high complexity from start to finish, including SAAS licensing requests, while working closely with the business owners, finance and legal (including working with and reporting to key members of senior leadership).
  • Analyzing purchasing data on an ongoing basis and working with the COO, Finance and AP teams to report on and make recommendations for improvements to the processes.
  • Managing a team of 3-4 people, overseeing overall operation, management and workflows of the team as well as negotiations with key vendors.
  • Working closely with the Finance department in updating the status of expenditures by vendor, based on any observed changes spanning from growth, consumption, negotiations, etc.
  • Formulating business strategies and delivering cost savings based on the designated targets and an overarching imperative to be as cost-efficient as possible.
  • Managing, facilitating and supporting the effective and continuous Purchase Order creation process in our existing system (Coupa), with the assistance of your team.
  • Managing the process for staying proactive and cost-efficient regarding upcoming renewals.
  • Seeking and document approvals as per the procurement process, in order to ensure corporate compliance for auditing purposes. This includes:
  • Business case & contract summaries.
  • IT, Security & IS checklist approvals.
  • Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Order support.
  • Maintaining and updating the Procurement Dashboard and the procurement section of other department dashboards (i.e.: IT, Finances, etc).
What you\'ll be bringing to the team
  • 8-10+ years direct experience in Procurement (ideally IT procurement)
  • Proven experience effectively managing a team and working in a high-performing procurement environment.
  • Proven expertise in negotiation, cost analysis, data analysis and custom reporting.
  • Previous experience working within a fast-paced results driven environment on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information to technical and nontechnical stakeholders and vendors.
  • A business-oriented and cost-focused mindset; with a passion for operational improvements and driving efficiencies.
  • Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate and the ability to persuade, influence, motivate and train fellow team members.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA, Coupa and MS Excel (including reporting)
  • Exposure working with Legal, finance, AP and/or IT departments.
  • Vendor management, RFI/Q/P, benchmarking, multi-scenario business cases.
  • Organized and proven experience leading and managing governances and KPIs (e.g. keeping track of dashboards).
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills in English.
Even better if you have, but not necessary (optional)
  • Post-Graduate in Supply Chain or Business, or equivalent experience in Procurement within multinational companies.
  • Project Management Experience / Dashboard and reporting.
  • Experience in IT Procurement, licenses optimization and knowledge about the key vendors in the industry.
  • French is optional.
