Location(s): Toronto (Hybrid)

As the Director, Portfolio Management, you will be a part of the Operations team and reporting to our SVP, Strategic Programs. You will direct project delivery at the business/function level and provide strategic leadership to a team of professional project managers. You will manage the business relationship for all portfolio projects across and within these departments, aligns resources and prioritizes to meet the departments overall goals. You will engage the Executive leadership team to provide project portfolio status updates, assessment of projects and delivery teams, and insights to support successful delivery of projects. You will manage the reporting and governance process, providing the executive owners the information required to ensure decision making at important milestones and overall change management.

  • Strategic Alignment: Work with Executive Owners and Business Sponsors to prioritize and align enterprise projects with strategic goals and corporate priorities and ensure successful completion
  • Portfolio Governance: Ensure that project management professionals are confirming projects to have clearly defined goals and measurable outcomes and appropriate governance throughout the execution lifecycle.
  • Portfolio Performance Tracking: Develop and track performance metrics of assigned portfolio, ensure projects within portfolio are delivered on time, budget and within defined scope. Monitor portfolio health to ensure appropriate resource levels and skills are in place to achieve priorities. Partner with project sponsors to effectively address constraints.
  • Project Execution: Maintain overall accountability for successful execution of all projects within assigned portfolio(s).
  • Internal Account Management: Communicate with project stakeholders regarding portfolio status, issues, opportunities, and other relevant topics. Serve as a point of contact for portfolio management, and participate in the ongoing review of project portfolio's financial status and provide recommendations to improve the project portfolio in collaboration with VP and Executive
  • Communication: Communicate regularly with project portfolio stakeholders regarding portfolio status, issues, opportunities, and other relevant topics, and creating ways of process improvement and efficiency. Required to update and partner with Executive Owners.
  • Portfolio Optimization: Consolidate and analyze portfolio strategic and financial information, identify opportunities to improve investments versus returns.
  • Capacity Management: Plan for and manage resources allocation to minimize capacity constraints and maximize resources efficiency while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and delivery of project activities
  • Steering Committee Reporting: Confirm the Steering Committee schedule, establish Steering Committee content materials with input from Business Sponsors, Project Managers and Programs Managers. Chair Steering Committee meetings
  • Team Member Development: Lead and train a motivated team. Foster and lead in an environment advocating and driving professional and personal growth of all team members, and guide them in achieving their career potential. Support HR led succession plan by development of the department's succession plan.
  • Understanding and application of Corporate Strategy, Business Analysis, Operations Improvement/LEAN, Finance and Performance Management, Change Management and Program/Project Management
Your Moneris Career - What you bring

Must-have...
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field of study
  • Project Management Institute, PMP Certification or equivalent required
  • 7+ years of experience in a project management capacity including all aspects of project management processes, disciplines and execution essential
  • Experience leading medium to large scale projects though full project life cycle
  • 5+ years of people management/ leadership experience
  • Proficient and knowledge with Microsoft Windows, Project and Visio
  • Experience in multiple project development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative)
  • Expert knowledge and application of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management including techniques and tools
  • Experience in Process Improvement and business consulting
  • Demonstrated experience managing project financials and forecasting
  • Sound experience in strategic planning, risk management and change management
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
Nice-to-have...
  • Six Sigma Certification is an asset
  • Master's Degree in Business (MBA) or in a related field is an asset
  • Previous experience in the payment industry considered an asset
  • Bilingual in French is considered an asset
