Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC, please visitWhat you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doingThe Director, Performance and Risk Reporting, Total Investment Solutions (6-month contract) is a seasoned performance and risk professional tasked with overseeing a team that is responsible for investment performance measurement and attribution, and monitoring and management of investment risk reporting and performance reporting within CIBC Asset Management.You\'ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all team deliverables, which include daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports. You are able to identify issues with accuracy in reports with your superior knowledge of nuances across investment markets. You\'ll use this knowledge to be able to develop deep insights and understanding of investment performance and risk issues. You\'ll use your strong communication skills to be able to develop cohesive and persuasive narratives around investment performance and risk. You\'ll also be responsible for oversight and implementation of a performance and risk system project that is currently underway, ensuring a seamless transition from existing systems.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Who you are
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re an industry expert. You have experience implementing performance and risk management systems, including coordination with vendors, testing, and building stakeholder confidence and support. You demonstrate an ability to drive the translation of complex financial concepts to practitioners and non- practitioners. You have broad knowledge across asset classes (equity, fixed income, FX, derivatives, private assets) and are able to articulate a view of the market that is rooted in data, creative and insightful interpretation, and an exhaustive consideration of all relevant perspectives.
  • You\'re passionate about people. You are a practical thinker with high emotional intelligence, with a command of understanding how to manage stakeholder needs with appropriately proactive communication.
  • You can demonstrate experience in performance reporting, attribution, interpreting, implementing and managing quantitative financial systems and models. Knowledge in market data services and investment systems such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Eagle Investment Systems. You demonstrate passion for investments and knowledge about global market trends.
  • You have a degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or other complementary business discipline. It\xe2\x80\x99s an asset if you have a CFA/FRM.
  • You are a caring and accountable leader. You have demonstrated excellence in your managerial experience in guiding and mentoring analysts. You have the capability to work in a fast paced, results-oriented team, focused on execution for clients. You lead by example, and take the time to provide mentorship to those that stand to benefit from your experience, while also being always open to feedback and advice.
