About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director, People Services, and working as part of the People Services leadership team, the Recruitment Director has province-wide responsibility to oversee the overall strategic and operational components of the Recruitment Centre of Expertise and is the primary lead and strategic advisor to the leadership of Nova Scotia Health on all People Services recruitment matters.

The Director supports a provincially integrated process and assists with leading the transformation, modernization, design, and development of comprehensive human resource and recruitment performance strategies and practices to support the effective, efficient delivery of services to support a sustainable workforce. This position contributes to the leadership of and supports strategies and operational plans consistent with legislation, accountability frameworks, and the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

The Recruitment Director ensures continuous improvement to advance a vision of academic excellence within the provision of care and is responsible for the development, maintenance, and monitoring of quality management and safety programs, and compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and accreditation requirements. The Director facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of Nova Scotia Health and works closely with educational institutions, government, and other partners on the preparation of our health workforce.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in health, social science, business or public administration, or related field
  • Master\'s Degree in health-related discipline, health administration, business administration or a related subject is an asset.
  • Human resource certificate an asset
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years\' experience in progressive leadership positions involved in planning and delivering comprehensive human resource services within a complex, integrated service model provided throughout several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders.
  • Significant management experience and knowledge of all aspects of human resources management and recruitment services
  • Ability to assess organizational development/learning needs and implement and monitor programs on a continual basis.
  • Experience as a strategic advisor and operational leader within a complex organization, enabling change.
  • Experience in engaging, mentoring, and empowering teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge of recruiting issues and trends, labour laws, and legislative initiatives.
  • Knowledge of healthcare organizations and the health sector.
  • Comfortable leading in a unionized context.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships
  • High level of competence in both written and verbal communication.
  • Experience working with a diversity of staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity and social inclusion.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks related to the workforce.
  • Sound knowledge of information systems and financial management.

Compensation and Incentives

$104,162 - $130,203 Annually
