The Corporate Director of Organizational Development (OD) is responsible for leading the planning and implementation of Human Resources strategies in a consistent and standardized way across J.D. Irving companies. This position provides leadership and collaboration in managing innovative human resources strategies that have an enterprise-wide impact to support organizational growth.

Working collaboratively with Corporate and Business Human Resources teams, and reporting to Corporate Vice President Human Resources, the Corporate Director of OD plays a key role in thought leadership and expertise guidance to a variety of key stakeholders and their teams in the strategic implementation of Organizational Development Strategies. The Corporate Director of OD will act as an internal consulting partner supporting the areas of organizational development and other strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead OD initiatives as set by Corporate VP HR, including researching external best practices, identifying current state practices, determining business needs, and setting future state vision. Keeping key stakeholders updated on current trends and hot topics.
  • Initiatives will include Succession Planning, Strategic Workforce Planning, Future of Work, Leadership competencies, HR capability and Employee Experience
  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate VP of HR and Corporate Centers of Expertise to build robust implementation plans with business HR Leaders to deliver upon the Strategic Human Resources Plan.
  • Partner with Corporate Leadership Insights and Coaching team in providing Executive coaching services as needed by the business, to support individual development plans.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Proven track record of leading Organization Development and Human Resource initiatives
  • Effective at leading change through influence
  • Strong customer focus and results orientation
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Project management experience
  • Coaching education and experience required
  • Familiarity with HR systems, including talent management systems and learning management systems
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Human Resources, Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Organization Development, or a related field is required
  • 12+ years of relevant experience
