Director, Operations Technical, Calgary The Director, Operations Technical is a high impact leadership role, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Production. You are an innovative and collaborative leader with drive, energy and passion who can build on the innovative culture that has defined MEGs success while leading continuous improvements and future innovations. You will be responsible for the subsurface and surface optimization and integration at our Christina Lake asset. This includes:
Leading the development of facility and production engineering and optimization strategies while delivering continuous improvement in these areas.
Operationalizing our asset management programs to drive safe, reliable and predictable performance.
Managing the annual Operations Capital program,

Lead a team of technical specialists to support MEGs strategic plan enabling the company to become a leading low-cost operator with a reputation for safety leadership, technical and operational excellence, innovation, and value creation.
Chair the Asset Leadership Team.
Drive optimization of the Christina Lake asset to meet or exceed business KPIs
Build and develop the technical operations organization (people and processes) to support the companys growth objectives and achieve best-in-class and industry leading performance.
Represent the company in industry forums and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Interface between the various stakeholder groups within MEG to ensure key information is communicated effectively.
Consistently demonstrate leadership while promoting and influencing the Companys corporate culture to ensure MEGs vision is well understood and adhered to throughout the business.
What you will bring to MEG:
B.Sc. in Engineering with a P.Eng. designation and licensed member of APEGA (or equivalent) in good standing
15+ years of progressive experience which includes Operations Management and Subsurface Engineering (Production, Reservoir), preferably thermal recovery. A minimum of 5 years\' experience in a senior management role.
A committed safety mindset focused on achieving an incident-free worksite by caring for ourselves and all others above all else.
Track record of cultivating an inclusive work environment that promotes talent, diversity and teams who embrace change, innovate, and deliver on results.
Ability to coalesce numerous factors in the analysis of competing opportunities and clearly and effectively communicate options to management.
Capable of preparing and delivering C-suite level presentations.
Strong business and financial analysis skills as well as ability to champion innovation and continuous improvement as methods to improve financial and operating performance.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and make decisions based on data-driven analysis.
Experience monitoring industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to anticipate challenges and opportunities in the operational landscape.
Proven performance of working with multi-disciplinary teams and implementing continuous improvements.
A strong commitment to operational excellence, and demonstrated history of utilizing new technology, systems, and processes.
Ability to maintain composure and make timely decisions while under pressure.
