Position Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Children Services, the Director of TRE-ADD, School Support and Urgent Response Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of these 3 distinct programs and the staff teams delivering these services. The position requires essential liaising with designated school boards and community agency partners to deliver programs supported through Memorandums of Understanding (MOU). The Director is responsible for collaborating with several Boards of Education and community agencies in the development, implementation and evaluation of the programs. The Director of TREADD, School Support and Urgent Response Services is responsible for the oversight and development of portfolio specific strategies to support the vision and values of Surrey Place, including ensuring the portfolio is properly provisioned and staffed. Additionally, the Director of TREADD, School Support and Urgent Response will be responsible for monitoring organizational and program specific data, outcomes and activities while analyzing processes to develop more effective & efficient processes and strategies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization through actions and decision making.
  • Adherence to SP policies and procedures, regulatory acts, and ministry processes.
  • Work in collaboration with managers to provide program leadership and work with the clinical teams to monitor for risk management.
  • Chair, or participate on internal SP committees and external community groups as identified within SP Operational or Strategic Plans.
  • Responsible for adherence to ministry mandates across programs, monitor to meet or exceed MCCSS service targets and complete various ministry service audits.
  • Lead accreditation process and monitoring of adherence to standards established across these programs.
  • Align TRE-ADD, SSP, and Urgent Response Services to local, regional, and provincial MCCSS initiatives.
  • Provides leadership and direction in the management of a variety of clinical disciplines.
  • Collaborates with other programs and services in the coordination of shared clinical services to ensure effective and efficient interdisciplinary care.
  • Leads the development and implementation of clinical program plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Implements policies and procedures and set standards of performance for program operations.
  • Responsible for Human Resource management and financial functions of the program.
  • Provision of supervision, support, and ongoing development of management staff.
  • Creates a staff experience that promotes excellence, ensures quality of care and service, and safety from an equity, diversity, and inclusion perspective.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in Psychology/Social/Healthcare, Business Administration or equivalent in combined education and management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years related management and clinical leadership experience in a health care or social services environment.
  • Experience in the public sector/non-profit field.
  • Experience in developing and establishing new projects or initiatives, an in-depth knowledge of community-based services,’
  • An awareness of Ministry of Education special education policies and procedures
  • A minimum of five years’ experience working with individuals with ASD and their families.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in program planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Police Records Check – Vulnerable Sector Screening, and proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19, unless an exemption is granted based on a bona fide Human Rights ground.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the GTA and occasionally outside of the GTA.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
