Job Description

:

Located in the Newfoundland and Labrador region, the director of operations is responsible for working with and leading the day-to-day activities of the Operations Team (Customer Service, Operations Managers, Planning, and Dispatch) to effectively implement transportation services to customers and to ensure that all activities are accurately recorded in the company\xe2\x80\x99s transportation management system for the Region. Regular interaction with customers to strengthen business relationships and foster a high level of communication.

Location: Wabush, NL

Responsibilities:

Direct the activities of the day-to-day transportation operations and major projects.

Manage driver relations in the region

Monitor the general operations of staff of the transportation departments to make sure that their operations are within the guidelines, safety measures, government orders, and administrative policies.

Involve in the negotiation and authorization of contracts and other forms of purchases and procurements that are related to the company\xe2\x80\x99s transportation needs.

Develop important indicators that measure and show the effectiveness of the company\xe2\x80\x99s transportation operation.

Oversee department\xe2\x80\x99s budget from proposal to expense control.

Profil

Experience / Requirements:

Minimum 2 years experience as a director of transportation
Knowledge of transportation (LTL)
Experience in a managerial/supervisory roll
Dock/freight handling experience
Excellent written and oral communication
Bilingual is an asset

Informations contractuelles

Base salary will be between 95K and 105K annually

Eligible for a 10% performance bonus determined by positive results and predetermined objectives

Eligible for the profit sharing program after completing 6 months of service

3 weeks of vacation.

Company truck and all operating expenses are included (Taxable benefit)

Accommodation at no charge & only expense will be the utilities. (Taxable benefit)
