Director of CareAbout the Role

As the Director of Care, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department and oversee facility-wide operations in the absence of the Administrator. You will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality care for our 53 residents, working collaboratively with Nurse Practitioners, Medical Doctors, Registered Dietitians, Physiotherapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate all aspects of resident care, ensuring alignment with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act (FLTCA), 2021. Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Act as a key contributor to the overall morale and culture of the Home. Collaborate with other departments to deliver comprehensive care. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. Manage documentation and care planning using PointClickCare (PCC) and Microsoft Office programs. Provide on-call support and be available for occasional evening hours.
Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) diploma required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred. Current RN license in good standing. Up-to-date CPR certification. Experience in geriatrics and chronic care is essential. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Proficient with computer programs, including Microsoft Office and PCC. Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively. Current criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening required prior to start.
