Position Summary
Reporting to the VP of Maintenance, the Director of Maintenance Support Shops (DOM-S) is responsible for ensuring the company's support shops meet or exceed both internal and third-party operational requirements. This includes managing the activities of the approved maintenance organization in compliance with policies outlined in the maintenance manual.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Mentor Shop Managers to enhance leadership skills and implement best practices for shop operations.
Oversee the Engineering, LMS, Turbine, Upholstery, and NDT shops, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with safety standards.
Work collaboratively with Shop Managers to maintain and continuously improve shop procedure manuals, investigate and resolve SMS findings, and perform task quality control checks.
Coordinate with the Engine Shop Manager to forecast, budget, schedule, and report on off-wing engine maintenance events, as well as with Fleet Managers to oversee major off-wing rotable maintenance events, including landing gear components.
Evaluate staff experience and issue Shop Certification Approvals (SCAs) as needed.
Partner with the Reliability Engineer to identify deficiencies and improve on-wing component reliability.
Develop and present annual budget considerations and attend weekly budget meetings to provide updates on planned budgets.
Build business cases to expand support shop capabilities for internal and third-party operations, including managing contract negotiations for third-party overhaul, repair, and support services.
Provide departmental oversight and step in as needed to maintain operational continuity.
Actively participate in and promote the company's Safety Management System.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience within a large airline organization, in progressively more responsible positions
Valid AME license with M1 and/or M2 rating, preferably both
Strong knowledge of airline industry operations, regulations, and standards (e.g., TC, TSB, CTA, ICAO, FAA)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Previous experience with Aviation Management Software (e.g., WinAir) considered an asset
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and authorizations
Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
Working Conditions
Physically able to perform all listed job duties
Travel by aircraft and other means as required
Various shifts in a fast-paced environment to meet airline service level requirements
After-hour availability, with a company phone provided
