Role Summary

Our Finance Division is growing, and we are right-sizing our structure to align with the growth of our company. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the Director of Finance role requires strong leadership, people management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills. Supporting the VP of Finance, this role will be involved in significant transformation initiatives within the Finance Division, including implementing a sales tax management platform, system and process improvements for inventory management and valuation, and expanding the company\xe2\x80\x99s budgeting and forecasting processes. The Director of Finance will lead Eminence\xe2\x80\x99s finance function, including corporate reporting, business planning, budgeting, and performance analytics. This role will lead the Controller alongside a growing Accounting and Finance Team of 8 Team-members.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the corporate controller function in delivering full-cycle accounting for all operating entities, including preparing financial statements.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Accounting and Operational Teams to review processes, implement best practices, and improve productivity.
  • Develop, implement, and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including KPI dashboards for both financial and operational metrics, as well as MD&A.
  • Determine benchmarks for comparing the operating and financial performance of the business.
  • Present financial and operational reports to, and respond to queries from Divisional Leaders and the Senior Management team.
  • Direct and review financial planning and budget management functions.
  • Manage and review budgeting and forecasting models.
  • Monitor working capital balances and recommend short-term investment solutions for excess cash.
  • Support and assist with daily cash flow, foreign exchange management, and other banking transactions.
  • Assist with business funding decisions.
  • Evaluate the need for new technology to meet the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial data processing, control and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee insurance and risk management.
  • Oversee the management of all leases, contracts, and other financial commitments.
  • Work with direct reports to establish annual goals and objectives and performance evaluations in adherence to the company\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of a team capable of responding to business growth in a mature and dependable manner.
Qualifications
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting responsibilities
  • Proven experience in leadership and management roles
  • Experience with significant transformation activities, major system and process improvement initiatives, and understanding of best practices.
  • Experience in a costing/manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and forward-thinking. Ability to interpret business and operational needs and develop solutions.
  • Capable of setting multi-year strategic plans and engaging others proactively in developing those plans.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Accpac 300 and Sage 50 is an asset.
  • Capable of developing and sustaining cooperative, productive working relationships and demonstrating Eminence\'s core values to contribute positively to the organization\'s culture.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
