Director of Finance

Director of Finance

on behalf of our client, a progressive Indigenous Organization within 1 hour of Regina, dedicated to community well-being and sustainable growth.

This senior leadership role is responsible for providing strategic financial oversight, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and regulations, and building capacity within the finance team. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with cultural awareness, helping to safeguard financial integrity while supporting long-term community goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the organization's financial strategy, planning, and reporting. Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, payroll, and budgeting. Ensure compliance with funding agreements, audits, and financial regulations. Develop and implement strong internal controls to protect organizational assets. Mentor and supervise finance staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Act as primary liaison with auditors, funders, and financial institutions. Provide financial insights to leadership to guide decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree considered an asset). 7-10 years of progressive financial management experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. Experience working with Indigenous organizations or knowledge of First Nations financial administration preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
