Our client, an established engineering company currently has a unique opportunity for a Director of Finance in their Maple Ridge location.

Job Summary

The Director of Finance holds responsibility for ensuring that all matters pertaining to the financial success of the business are monitored and all information required for business planning and reporting is accurate and readily available, as well as organization-wide project management.

As a member of the Management team, you will contribute to the day-to-day profitable operations of the company, and lead a team of finance professionals.

Responsibilities and Duties

Finance

  • Manage the Accounting function of the Group, ensuring accurate records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory bodies.
  • Set Accounting policies of the company, including other branches.
  • Manage the company\'s assets, including acquisitions and leases for the business.
  • Manage cash flow position, with 90-day projections.
  • Supervise the company\'s accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit and collections functions.
  • Ensure cost analysis processes are effective and provide pertinent information for pricing purposes in a timely manner.
  • Verify and analyze all financial reporting.
  • Complete year-end processes including reconciliations, financial statements, tax information and other information required by the company President in conjunction with external accountants
  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly budget analysis.
  • Monitor and bring forward recommendations in regards to the company\'s growth in relation to resources and capability, providing Management with \'what if\' scenarios.
Qualifications and Skills
  • CPA designation required
  • Accounting or business degree, or equivalent business experience
  • Experience: 10+ years with at least 5 years in a manufacturing setting
  • Responsible for continuously improving skills, as well as industry-related knowledge.
  • Energetic self-starter truly impassioned to this work who takes authority boldly.
  • A proven leader of financial professionals
  • Exceptional communication skills and positive personality
  • Ability to identify and manage risk
  • Solution-oriented
  • Above-average Excel skills
