The Director of Finance & Administration provides strategic and operational leadership for Jayden's Mechanical Ltd.'s financial, administrative, and HR functions across all branches. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial information, strengthens systems and internal controls, and supports the executive team with data-driven insight for decision-making.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Director plays a central role in shaping the company's financial health, administrative efficiency, and organizational culture, aligning all support functions with Jayden's long-term growth and operational excellence. This position reports to the General Manager and the Owners.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):



Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee and enhance all day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions. Supervise the Controller and accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger entries. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, performance dashboards, and variance analyses for leadership review. Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial plans with company strategy. Manage cash flow, banking relationships, credit facilities, and financial compliance. Collaborate with external accountants for year-end reporting and audits. Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and integration between Field Service and Project Management Software, QuickBooks, and reporting tools.

Administrative & HR Oversight

Oversee administrative operations across all branches, ensuring consistency, accountability, and efficiency. Provide leadership to the Residential and Commercial Admin Leads and support staff. Ensure accurate payroll administration and HR documentation in compliance with Ontario employment standards. Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes in collaboration with leadership. Implement and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and training programs. Serve as a key point of contact for benefits administration, insurance renewals, and vendor relationships.

Strategic & Operational Leadership

Act as a financial advisor and business partner to the President and senior management team. Support strategic planning, acquisitions, and investment initiatives with financial analysis and modeling. Establish metrics and reporting tools to track branch and departmental performance. Develop and monitor KPIs related to profitability, overheads, and efficiency. Qualifications Include:



Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA designation (or in progress) strongly preferred. 7+ years of progressive experience in financial and administrative leadership roles, ideally within construction, trades, or service industries. Proven success in a multi-branch or multi-entity environment. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, ERP and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities. Experience leading teams and building systems through periods of growth and change.
