Description :
Under the authority of the Director General, the Director of Continuing Education and Community Services is responsible for the overall management (planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating) of the Continuing Education division. The incumbent ensures that the Continuing Education division is managed in accordance with the College’s stated Mission, Values and Vision and takes into account the College’s multi-annual strategic plans. The Director also assists the Academic Dean in ensuring the quality of education and coherence of all CEGEP credit courses offered under the auspices of the Continuing Education division.

More specifically, but not limited to, the Director of Continuing Education and Community Services is responsible for:

  • The quality of education and services offered in the division’s CEGEP credit courses, Attestation of College Studies (ACS) programs, Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC), summer school, non-credit courses and programs including corporate training, the Language School and international cooperation programs;
  • The financial viability and results for each of the sectors of the Continuing Education division;
  • The maintenance and development of programs and courses in the division as well as the maintenance and development of the essential relationships with its government, industry and community partners and contributors;
  • Representation of his/her administration on official bodies of the College including Management Executive Committee and outside organizations upon the request of the administration on matters within his/her competency and/or responsibility;
  • Plans and manages international student recruitment and international cooperation projects;
  • Ensures the development of collaborative and concerted links with various partners and represents the Cégep before various authorities, such as ministries, the Fédération des Cégeps and organizations at the national, regional and local levels;
  • Monitors opportunities for the development of new training courses or new services. Oversees their implementation and financing;
  • Explores and develops opportunities to reach potential new learners, including online education;
  • Plans and coordinates communication, promotional and recruitment activities;
  • Manages an external campus.

The Director performs all other duties assigned by the Director General or by resolution of the Board.

Requirements :
Qualifications: Established in accordance with provisions of Article 7-2.00 of the Policy for Management Personnel.***

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, Master’s preferred;
  • Five (5) years of pertinent management experience, ideally in a leadership role in post-secondary academic administration and in business development and international affairs;
  • Demonstrated abilities to develop and maintain successful business relationships;
  • Superior planning, prioritizing and problem solving abilities;
  • Excellent communications skills in English and French (written and spoken), proficiency in more languages an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies in a multicultural context.

***Exceptionally, a DEC and additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the preferred Bachelor's Degree
