Job Description


The Director of Attendant Services will be responsible for overseeing and managing our Program operations delivering support services to adults with physical disabilities. The Director of Attendant Services will be tasked with the planning, development, implementation, and supervision of community support services, and for ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained by overseeing successful delivery of Consumer services on a 24/7 basis.The Director of Attendant Services will be accountable for managing and providing leadership to a team of Program Managers to ensure efficient Program operations and to achieve the organization\'s strategic objectives and priorities.Leadership and People Management:\xc2\xb7 Build and support sustainable and productive relationships with all individuals including direct reports, senior management, staff, Consumers, community partners, and government stakeholders.\xc2\xb7 Provide direct supervision, performance management and development of the Operational Management Team; provide skip level supervision of frontline staff (Independent Living Assistants).\xc2\xb7 Provide leadership and mentoring to the Operational Management Team through regular one-on-one meetings, coaching, mentoring and performance reviews.\xc2\xb7 Recruit, hire and onboard members of the Operational Management Team and frontline staff.\xc2\xb7 Resolve conflict and disagreements between direct reports, frontline staff and Consumers through influence and negotiation ensuring that professional relationships and conduct are maintained.Consumer Services:\xc2\xb7 Ensure quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and coordination of Consumers\' Independent Living goals and scope of services.\xc2\xb7 Respect and protect the rights of Consumers, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity; and their right to live free from retaliation, discrimination, and abuse.\xc2\xb7 Review service agreements to ensure completeness and accuracy in compliance with regulations, policies, and funding requirements.\xc2\xb7 Act as mediator between management employees, staff and Consumers to resolve conflicts and disagreements.\xc2\xb7 Ensure professional conduct and boundaries are maintained by all employees and Consumers through enforcement of organizational policies and procedures.Program Operations:\xc2\xb7 Conduct weekly onsite visits of each Program location to engage with management, staff and Consumers to gather feedback and ensure operations are running smoothly.\xc2\xb7 Audit bookings and schedules to ensure Consumers\' service needs are consistently met and funding targets are achieved.\xc2\xb7 Ensure budgets for Programs, personnel training and supplies are fiscally responsible.\xc2\xb7 Liaise with appropriate government agencies for funding and reporting purposes.\xc2\xb7 Liaise with community partners and external stakeholders to collaborate on sector-specific initiatives.\xc2\xb7 May perform additional assigned duties.\xc2\xb7 Minimum education required is a Bachelor\'s degree in a related field (i.e. Social Work, Human Services, Health Management).\xc2\xb7 Minimum of 10 years of management experience in the Community Support Services and/or attendant services sector.\xc2\xb7 Previous experience working as a frontline support staff (i.e. personal support worker) providing attendant services within an Independent Living environment.\xc2\xb7 Strong formal and informal leadership skills with experience providing coaching and development of management-level employees; mentoring and motivating frontline employees.\xc2\xb7 Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key external stakeholders (i.e. government agencies and community partners).\xc2\xb7 Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to maintain confidentiality and privacy.\xc2\xb7 Physically able to perform all assigned tasks.\xc2\xb7 A valid G driver\'s license and vehicle to conduct weekly site visits.\xc2\xb7 Current First Aid and CPR certification.Robert Half is the world\'s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
