Key Responsibilities


  • Manage music programmers with the \xc3\x89nergie, Rouge, and Boom FM networks and with iHeartRadio Qu\xc3\xa9bec
  • Run portions of the music programming
  • Manage the music programming for all networks
  • Ensure compliance with CRTC regulatory requirements
  • Manage the music catalogue and rotations on a weekly basis
  • Organize and participate in the consultation committee
  • Seek out and create special music programs for stations in Montr\xc3\xa9al and networks
  • Actively participate in the executive radio committee
  • Represent the station at music industry events
  • Meet with promotional representatives from record labels
  • Develop and implement the strategic music plan for the networks, taking into account product guidelines and station positioning
  • Ensure that market share targets are met and take the necessary measures to increase them
  • Devise and design multiplatform music content (audio, digital)
  • Ensure compliance with music programming expenditure budgets
  • Support the station programming team
    • Actively participate in creating station programming schedules in collaboration with the leadership team
    • Collaborate with the production department for the technical component and for programming operationsEnsure that there is constant communication with the network program directors (monitoring of broadcasts, replacements, innovations, and changes)
  • Keep abreast of new audio trends; act as a source of information on the industry and the competition; and maintain a network of contacts
  • Ensure maximum usage of programming technical tools


Critical Qualifications


  • A minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience leading a team (in the radio industry is an asset)
  • University education in a relevant field or equivalent experience (important asset)
  • Experience in music programming and music content strategy to reach a target audience
  • Organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills in French, both oral and written (knowledge of English is an asset)
  • Initiative and leadership
  • Recognized management and negotiation skills
  • Public relations skills (interpersonal skills)
  • Excellent knowledge of music (current music and past hits)
  • Good knowledge of French-language Bell Media radio formats
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Internet use, specifically MusicMaster, Mediabase and WideOrbit (important asset)
  • Passion, curiosity, teamwork and a desire to be involved and share opinions
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure
