We are searching for the best talent for a Director, Medical Operations to be in Toronto, Canada.
Purpose:
The Director, Medical Operations is a member of the Medical Affairs Leadership Team (MALT), reporting to the VP of Medical Affairs. The Director will have overall leadership and accountability for the Medical Operations team that supports Medical Affairs and the overall Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines (JJIM) Canada business within areas of MA Business Compliance & Operations, Materials Review, Innovative Medical Solutions and the operations of Evidence Generation. This role will provide the strategic direction and planning for the following key areas and teams:

• Research Compliance
• Medical Affairs Solutions and Technology (Medical CRM, Data & Analytics, J&J Science Connect)
• Medical Affairs Operations
• Review of company materials (promotional and non-promotional materials)
• Transparency Reporting for JJIM Canada in compliance with the regulations
• HCP Value Transfer for JJIM Canada
• Medical Education and Patient Organization Grant Management

You will be responsible for:

• working in close alignment with the Medical Affairs Leadership Team (MALT) comprised of Therapeutic Area Medical Affairs which includes Medical Science, Medical Education, Evidence Generation and Medical Communications/Medical Information.
• effectively aligning JJIM Canada Medical Affairs strategy with overall company objectives.
• providing strategic direction, line management, coaching and development for the Medical Operations team.
• providing oversight for the MA Operations, Research Compliance, Material Review, Data Analytics & Insights and MA Solutions teams including compliance related system deployments and enhancements.
• optimizing related processes and systems to continually improve efficiencies through simplification.
• providing leadership and direction for the development and implementation of Transparency reporting.
• supporting all brands engaging in value transfer by providing on-going education, risk mitigation strategies and credo-based solutions.
• leading JJIM Canada Medical Affairs transformation to an analytics-driven organization in partnership with other functions in order to shape and drive business strategy in an informed and objective manner.
• enhancing medical customer interactions through insight generation and analytics and scientific content management leveraging technology.
• providing the JJIM Canada Medical Affairs department performance metrics and reporting.
• driving process standardization, providing procedural guidance and quality oversight, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, continuous improvement and high-quality output, to support Medical Affairs strategy
• providing innovative continuous and personalized learning experiences that empower our people to flourish and grow in our changing world by enabling customization and delivery of critical capabilities to meet diverse roles.
• ensuring all medical & promotional materials developed are held to the highest standards of quality and compliance, reflecting our corporate commitment to ensure healthcare professionals and patients have access to the information, programs and support they need to achieve the best results possible.
• supporting a centralized content strategy framework, in partnership with other functions, focused on the creation and delivery of personalized content customized to target audience segments through optimal channels, and outline performance measurements to enhance the customer experience through effective processes and systems.
• respresenting JJIM regionally and globally - to ensure Canadian compliance requirements (process and system) are addressed
• oversight of audits and inspections in collaboration with Quality Management and GCO & maintenance of ongoing audit readiness

Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:

• A minimum of a University degree in health sciences, finance or equivalent is required
• An advanced degree in science and/or business is preferred

Required:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality assurance, compliance or related function within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry is required
• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership and/or people management role is required
• Excellent leadership and strategic thinking skills is required
• Demonstrated ability to lead through change and motivate a diverse team is required
• Excellent written and verbal business communication skills, strong presentation skills, and superior attention to accuracy, detail and deadlines is required
• Strong proficiency for the interpretation of complex regulatory requirements and quality standards, and the dissemination of the rationale and risk assessment is required
• Strong organizational and planning skills; able to adapt to changing priorities and manage complexity with solid decision making is required
• Strong ability to shape and influence in a matrix environment is required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point is required

Preferred:

• 10 years leading a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment is preferred
• Bilingual English and French is preferred
