The Opportunity
We're hiring a strategic
Director, Insurer & Government Relations
to shape Lift's national strategy with insurers, industry associations, and government stakeholders. You'll monitor and influence regulatory developments and partner across the business to support growth, operational excellence, and a fair, sustainable collision?repair ecosystem.

Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years in collision repair insurance relations
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Policy, Law, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
Knowledge: Deep understanding of Canada's auto insurance landscape and provincial/federal regulatory frameworks; familiarity with DRP models and claims operations.
Skills: Advanced stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influence skills; outstanding written and verbal communication; strong analytical, strategic planning, and project management capabilities.
Attributes: Relationship-oriented, pragmatic, and solutions-focused; comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Technology: Proficient with Microsoft 365; comfortable working with dashboards/metrics and preparing executive-level materials.
Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic engagement with provincial and national insurance partners to build strong, collaborative, and sustainable relationships.
Negotiate and administer insurer program agreements, performance frameworks, and issue resolution protocols aligned to Lift's operational and financial goals.
Monitor industry trends, claims practices, DRP requirements, and emerging insurer expectations; translate insights into actionable strategies for Operations and Finance.
Develop and execute government relations strategy at the provincial and federal levels to inform and influence policy affecting collision repair, labour, and transportation.
Track legislative, regulatory, and policy changes (e.g., insurance regulations, safety and environmental standards, workforce initiatives) and assess business impacts.
Represent Lift at industry associations, committees, and conferences; build trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders.
Partner with Operations and Corporate departments to align messaging, ensure compliance, and support change management.
Create clear briefing notes, position papers, and submissions; prepare executives for stakeholder meetings and public engagements.
Establish KPIs and reporting for insurer relations and government affairs; provide regular updates and recommendations to the Executive Team.
Uphold Lift's values, reputation, and ethical standards in all external engagements.
