The Opportunity
As a Director, Institutional Private Assets you will cultivate relationships with the research teams and field offices of investment consultants to elevate Fidelitys institutional brand and develop conviction in our alternative investing capabilities. Your coverage remit will focus on alternative investment consulting specialists but will also extend to the alternative research groups at traditional consultants. Additionally, you will help with distribution team as a subject matter expert. Ideal candidates will have established relationships at these consultants and a background in selling or covering strategies in alternative assets classes.
What Youll Do
Develop engagement strategies for consultants under their purview outlining growth opportunities for our alternative /private asset (i.e direct lending and credit alternative products) and identifying gating issues that need to be addressed to develop and/or deepen relationships with consultants
Work with our Investment Portfolio Managers and sales teams to act as an alternative specialist, understand pricing structures and outline current product structures for different customer types.
Lead the process for consultants review and underwriting of Fidelity strategies including the coordination of RFP responses, due diligence meetings, investment reviews, etc.
Serve as an internal spokesperson and proponent for consultants under your purview; provide consultant feedback to internal partners
Develop opportunities for thought leadership content creation and distribution including partnering with marketing to develop white papers, case studies, trickle marketing campaigns, and press releases
Collaborate with marketing and sales to sponsor consultant focused events such as roundtable discussions, webinars and conferences
What Were Looking For
7+ years working with institutional investment consultants and/or experience working with alternatives in product development, relationship management and sales
University degree or related field or equivalent experience
Designations such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Masters of Business Administration (MBA)/Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) are an asset
Experience in the private markets industry, including hedge funds, real estate, Private Debt, BDCs and Direct Lending; liquid alternatives a plus
Outstanding partnership skills and ability to partner across portfolio managers, product development, senior managers, legal and compliance, and salespeople across various coverage areas, among others
Demonstrated credibility in influencing, selling and developing business within the investment management sectors or related financial services clients
Ability to develop and deliver effective and organized communication in written and verbal form to senior audiences with appropriate persuasiveness and sensitivity
