The ideal candidate will bring a creative and entrepreneurial sales approach to this growing Capital Markets desk. You will have an established client coverage network and have the drive to explore new relationships within Canada and the U.S. You will be working in a dynamic team environment and working closely with the research and trading teams.
Reporting to the Managing Director and Head of Equities, the Director of Equity Sales will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for the Capital Markets Group. A proactive team member that creates focus, discipline and standardization across the sale of publicly traded capital markets product solutions across private wealth and institutional channels. The successful candidate will help increase internal participation, increase client base and establish revenue expansion capabilities.
Key Job Responsibilities:
-Cultivate relationships with Institutional Portfolio Managers and deliver exceptional investment ideas.
-Disseminate Equity Research
-Develop Institutional and Buy side relationships
-Thorough knowledge of financial markets
-Formulate Investment Opinion
-Broad market knowledge and sector specific knowledge in mining, technology, real estate and infrastructure.
Your skills and experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in business and or finance
-An M.B.A. or C.F.A. would be desirable but not necessary
-3-5 years of sales trading/trading experience covering Canadian institutional from a broad equity standpoint (specific sector expertise in technology, real estate, power and infrastructure, mining or consumer products nice to have)
-Experience transacting in equities in both an agency and principal capacity
-Existing relationships with Canadian institutional clients. ( U.S.) Nice to have
-Experience with Canadian trading regulations
-Completion of CSC, CPH, and Traders Training Course
-Ability to work in a fast - paced environment
-A dynamic team member
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
