As the Director, Innovation and Research Advancements, you'll be at the forefront of revolutionizing the delivery of AstraZeneca-sponsored studies. This role is pivotal in implementing ground breaking digital solutions and novel strategies to optimize clinical trial processes, including decentralized trials. Collaborate with internal study teams and various collaborators to ensure these innovations align with regulatory compliance and scientific rigor. Your strategic vision and practical implementation skills will position AstraZeneca at the forefront of healthcare innovation.

Accountabilities



Digital Transformation Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for digital innovation in clinical trials. Framework and Methodology Development: Establish best practices to streamline the adoption of digital solutions. Protocol Design and CRO Selection: Enhance clinical trial processes and support strategic decision-making. Cultural and Mindset Shift: Lead initiatives to instill a digital-first mindset throughout the organization. Stakeholder Collaboration and Advocacy: Engage with stakeholders to align digital initiatives with strategic objectives. Step-by-Step Transformation: Guide the organization through every phase of digital transformation. Innovation Leadership and Industry Engagement: Stay ahead of industry trends and represent AstraZeneca in forums. Internal Support and Education: Educate teams on innovative technology solutions within the GMA portfolio.

Essential Skills/Experience



Extensive knowledge of the clinical research and drug development processes and relevant guidelines e.g. GCP/ICH Experience in driving digital innovation within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors, with a focus on clinical trials delivery Working knowledge of decentralized clinical trials and understanding regulatory and compliance issues Ability to identify, understand and mitigate business risk Strong strategic and innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive organizational change Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and motivating diverse teams

Desirable Skills/Experience



Several years' experience working within a pharmaceutical organisation Knowledge of the diverse types of medical activities, including evidence study delivery
