HOURS OF WORK:

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Director, Information technology is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the hospital's information technology operations. They will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in IT management, cyber security, cloud infrastructure management, and clinical information system management. The Director is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of technology services that support the hospital's mission and objectives. This role would be envisioned to take on the formalization and leadership of the hospitals security office, and as such on successful delivery assume the title of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The IT Director must be adept at balancing competing demands and priorities, analyzing complex technical issues, and developing and implementing creative solutions. They should have strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams. The IT Director will be a strategic thinker who can proactively identify opportunities for organizational improvements and efficiencies and lead the development of technical proposals to support these initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

+ Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field and/or at least 7 years' experience working in a multi-platform technical support environment or equivalent education and work experience required. + 7+ years of experience in the IT industry, with increasing levels of responsibility over time. This experience should ideally include technical roles, such as systems administrator or network engineer, as well as leadership or management positions. Focused experience in leadership and management abilities. Able to manage people and resources effectively, develop and implement IT strategies, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders required. + Certified Cloud Security Professional (CSSP) (or willingness to enroll and complete within 1.5 years) required. + Certificates or diplomas in technical areas, such as networking, cybersecurity, or systems administration preferred. + Completion of training programs or courses related to project management, leadership, or communication preferred. + Additional technical certifications or training, such as those offered by vendors or industry associations preferred + CompTIA A+ + CompTIA Network+

WHO YOU ARE:

+ Strong leadership and management skills to lead and motivate IT teams effectively. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with other departments and stakeholders. + Strong knowledge of cloud based technology delivery in a healthcare setting (AVS, AVD, Fabric, M365). + Strong experience delivering SaaS, cloud based ERP (Workday or similar). + In-depth knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure. + Understanding of emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry. + Ability to develop and execute IT strategies aligned with organizational goals. + Experience in budgeting and resource allocation for IT projects, with an ability to identify cost efficiencies and tooling alternatives. + Proficiency in IT project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Expertise in IT security and risk management to protect the organization's data and systems. + Familiarity with IT governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements. + Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex IT issues. + Vendor management skills to negotiate contracts and manage relationships with IT service providers. + Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). + Understanding of software development and application lifecycle management. + Experience in IT service management and ITIL practices. + Ability to stay updated with industry best practices and advancements in IT. + Strategic thinking and the ability to align IT initiatives with the organization's overall business objectives.
