Job Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director of Indirect Procurement will establish and lead a new enterprise-wide function at 123Dentist. This role will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, driving competitive negotiations, overseeing vendor management, and ensuring robust contract governance across all clinical and corporate indirect spend categories, while excluding direct consumables, equipment, and services.

The Director will combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution: setting the vision, influencing senior stakeholders, and personally leading initiatives that deliver measurable savings and operational improvements. A critical priority will be professionalizing procurement processes, from structured RFPs to vendor governance, while building a high-performing team that delivers best-in-class value, accountability, and efficiency.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Leadership & Function Build-Out

Establish the indirect procurement function, including processes, policies, and a long-term roadmap for cost savings and value creation. Partner with the CFO to define performance targets, track ROI, and present outcomes to senior leadership. Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of procurement professionals. Implement a centralized shared services model with service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure consistent, high-quality support across clinics and corporate functions. Manage resources and budgets effectively to maximize efficiency and impact.

Category Strategy & Execution

Lead sourcing strategies across indirect categories such as IT, facilities, travel, office services, and consultants (excluding direct consumables, equipment, and services). Design and execute category strategies based on business needs, market intelligence, and supplier insights. Standardize engagement with consultants and service providers through structured sourcing, negotiation, and contracting practices. Identify opportunities for cost optimization, volume bundling, economies of scale, and supplier-led innovation.

Supplier & Risk Management

Build and maintain a vendor governance framework with defined SLAs, performance reviews, and risk controls. Develop and enforce procurement policies and governance standards to ensure consistency and accountability across the organization. Leverage technology, systems, and tools to modernize procurement processes and improve efficiency. Mitigate risks while ensuring supply continuity, service quality, and compliance.

Cross-Functional Partnership

Serve as the enterprise lead for indirect procurement initiatives, aligning strategies with stakeholder priorities. Collaborate with Finance, IT, Operations, HR, and clinical leaders to co-create innovative solutions that support organizational goals. Advise senior executives on spend optimization, vendor performance, and process improvements.

Reporting and Metrics

Define and monitor KPIs to measure savings, category effectiveness, and team performance. Develop executive dashboards and reporting tools to inform decision-making and demonstrate value delivery. Use data and analytics to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field. 10+ years of progressive procurement experience, including clinical and corporate indirect categories, ideally within multi-site organizations. Demonstrated success in building and leading procurement functions. Proven ability to negotiate enterprise-wide contracts and deliver measurable, sustained savings. Expertise in sourcing strategies, supplier governance, and contract management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex data. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing senior leadership. Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment

Working Conditions:

Professional, collaborative, and supportive work environment. A team committed to growth, innovation, and enabling success at all levels. A dynamic, fast-growing organization with an entrepreneurial, "can-do" culture.
123Dentist is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees
