Job Description


Position Summary:Reporting to the President, the Director, Hospitality and Culinary Services will also have accountabilities to the Senior Director of Operations. The successful candidate will lead strategic initiatives which include enhancing our hospitality, culinary, and housekeeping services. Responsible for overseeing contracted service providers, you will collaboratively lead in-house teams and ensure operational excellence across all hospitality functions. You will support the President in developing and executing new strategic initiatives to fulfill the mission, vision and values. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you are a self-starter with strong business acumen, a passion for delivering exceptional service experience, and have a proven track record of building strategic partnerships to drive continuous improvement.Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Model the organizations mission, vision, and values, consistently representing Covenant professionally and positively.
  • Collaborate effectively as a professional team player, supporting the achievement of Covenants mission, vision, and values.
  • Engage and mobilize teams to fulfill Covenants mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with the President and Senior Operation Officer to develop and execute new initiatives that support the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Hospitality Leadership: Drive a culture of hospitality excellence, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and service-oriented environment.
  • Culinary & Housekeeping Oversight: Manage both contracted providers and in-house teams, ensuring high-quality dining and housekeeping services that meet and exceed expectations.
  • Operational Management: Implement efficient systems, processes, and best practices to optimize service delivery, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance guest experiences, streamline operations, and introduce innovative solutions.
  • Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Partnership & Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and high-quality service execution.
  • Measure goals toward success and provide regular reports on progress.
  • Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of projects with respect to costs, quality, safety, staffing and budgetary control.
Qualifications:Formal education in either hospitality services, culinary services, business and environmental services
  • Advanced professional designation and education preferred.
  • Equivalent education/related experience will be considered.
Experience:
  • Multi site proven leadership within senior/continuing care (Independent Living, Supportive Living, Long term care) or hospitality industry.
  • Successfully lead projects that involved major change and multiple stakeholders
  • Successfully lead project that required business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle in order to travel within Alberta year-round.
