By driving change in the areas of governance, methodology, metrics and reporting and risk analysis/synthesis, the Director will ensure timely identification, prioritization and communication of key IT Risks for the Bank globally. The Director will ensure strong alignment with the Bank\'s overall Risk Management policies and frameworks. Furthermore, the Director will ensure that changes to the Bank\'s Cyber and IT Risk program will deliver improvements in both efficiency and effectiveness.The Director will leads the second line Cyber Security & IT risk oversight program, including conducting Independent Risk Oversight on a quarterly basis and participate in other Risk Assessment programs such as the NIRA and TPRM programs. The Director is responsible for providing advisory and healthy challenge in the business lines\' risk management practices, including the effective execution of all 1LOD tools in complying with the relevant risk policies and standards as well as ensuring proactive management of the top and emerging risks as identified.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Leverage strong business knowledge, act as a trusted advisor, provide value-added advice and independent effective challenge to the Canadian Banking and Global Wealth Management business lines in their operational risk management, utilizing key operational risk management tools such as Risk Control Self Assessments, operational risk scenario analysis, New Initiative Risk Assessment, Operational Risk Events escalation and assessment, issues management, and Key Risk Indicators reporting.
  • Develop strong partnership, stay abreast of the business priorities and acts as the main point of contact to Cyber Security and Technology and each Business Line\'s first line internal control teams, and applicable corporate support functions.
  • Provide change leadership by pro-actively identifying opportunities and driving enhancement to the risk oversight practice; provide insight to support the enhancement of the Bank\'s l risk management framework tools, methodologies and programs.
  • Drive thematic analysis and root cause problem solving on issues identified through risk events reviews, self-assessments, scenario analysis and other reviews/testing including those performed by Audit, Shareholder Auditors, Compliance and Regulators to determine significant risks and ensure sound risk mitigations.
  • Provide executive reporting on the business line risk profiles and represent Cyber Security and IT Risks to various risk committees as applicable, providing sound metrics, value-added advice and insight.
  • Liaise with other non-financial risks specialist areas as well as second line risk teams globally to ensure holistic approach: Stays up to date on all relevant internal, external risk events, and industry development in order to drive awareness and focus on managing top and emerging risks.
  • Manage and co-ordinate various regulatory requirements as requested by OSFI/Internal Partners.
  • Support overall Cyber & IT Risk team mandate and deliveries as required; lead team initiative to enhance overall risk oversight practice and continue to build up team capabilities; support the overall department and other Bank units as required.
  • Understand how the Bank\'s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Must possess strong communication (oral and written), listening, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish with superior oral and written skills is an asset.
