JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the President, the Food & Beverage Director will provide strategic leadership for all Food & Beverage operations at Grouse Mountain. This includes a diverse portfolio of outlets--from fine dining to casual service--including The Observatory Restaurant, Altitudes Bistro, Lupins Cafe, Grouse Grind Coffee Bar, Starbucks, Rusty Rail BBQ, Beaver Tails, as well as corporate and wedding catering events. In a dynamic and evolving environment, the Director will lead with a people-first approach, fostering a culture of engagement, development, and collaboration, while implementing industry best practices, driving operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences that create lasting memories.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide strategic leadership for all Food & Beverage operations, ensuring excellence in quality, guest experience, and financial performance. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five managers and up to 250 employees, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and service excellence. Set and drive departmental goals and KPIs aligned with organizational strategy, ensuring consistent operational and financial success. Champion leadership development, coaching, and performance management to build capability and strengthen team effectiveness. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning to ensure strong talent pipelines and alignment with company values. Lead the Executive Chef and culinary leaders to innovate menus, enhance offerings, and elevate the overall dining experience. Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Sales, and Marketing to ensure cohesive guest experiences, and brand activation. Lead the execution of large-scale events and special projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand standards. Ensure full compliance with liquor licensing, health, and safety regulations; act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies. Build and sustain strong relationships with guests, staff, and stakeholders to promote collaboration, trust, and long-term success. Serve as a visible and values-driven leader, modeling integrity, inclusivity, and excellence across all operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

5-7 years of leadership experience in high-volume, multi-outlet F&B operations or hospitality an asset. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop large teams, including managers and frontline staff. Experience driving engagement, performance management, and succession planning. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with staff, guests, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Experience partnering with sales, marketing, and facilities teams to achieve business objectives. Strong operational knowledge of food & beverage outlets, kitchen management, and service excellence. Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, cost control, and KPI achievement. Skilled in planning and executing large-scale events and operational projects. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and profitability. Experience in vendor management, procurement, and inventory control. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Degree or diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, or Food & Beverage Management (or equivalent experience). Valid FoodSafe and Serving It Right certifications. Ability to work flexible shifts to meet operational and seasonal needs. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$115,000 - $135,000 per annum plus annual incentive bonus
