THE ROLE:
Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
Reporting to the CFO and Directorr of Finance for VitalHub Companies the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible to provide leadership and direction of the day-to-day general finance function including the monthly reporting package and the statutory financial reporting of Vitalhub's international UK/Australian subsidiaries. The ideal candidate holds an accounting designation and is able to build a high-performance team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Planning & Analysis
• Leverage data from Netsuite into data repository using a Power BIother visualization tool
• Build budgets (annual) and forecasts
• Build product profitability models
• Prepare management reports, variance analysis, trend analysis and financial insight information for the senior management team
• Investigate to recognize variances and ensure business partners understand the story behind the variances
• Support key priority initiative reporting including KPIs as well as ensuring alignment of initiatives with overall strategy
International Finance Leadership
• Effectively manage, lead and develop the UK finance team and align the group with business needs
• Educate and enable UK management team to understand financial impact of the business
• Develop and manage relationships with customers and vendors including banks, audit firm, tax, key suppliers and customers
• Key person with regards to complex accounting issues including software revenue recognition under IFRS 15
• Manage the current month-end close process to meet HQ reporting deadlines
• Own the monthly financial reporting and analysis of the UK Group including communication with the Canadian and UK executive team
• Function across a wide range of responsibilities from high level analysis and working on business issues with the leadership team
• Manage the year end audit and tax reporting of all subsidiaries under UK GAAP and IFRS
• Develop a strong understanding of the business products, revenue streams and expenses to identify key drivers and gain synergies
• Lead in M&A integration of any UK entities, understanding the business acquired, integrating into the Groups process and into accounting software
• Other special projects and ad hoc reporting as required
EXPERIENCE:
Skills & Qualifications
• University degree in Finance or Accounting
• Have a CPA, CA designation, or equivalent
• Possess strong technical IFRS skills and knowledge
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of experience leading a finance team
• Prior work experience with a SAAS based business with recurring revenues
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with accounting software Netsuite is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with significant experience analyzing and summarizing large amounts of data with ability to identify and provide insight into key issues
• Exceptional attention to details and organization skills and deep sense of urgency.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced demanding environment, with the ability to work under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines with accurate data.
