Join Flair's Finance team, where strategic insight and financial discipline drive sustainable growth. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for leading all aspects of the financial planning and analysis function. This senior finance leader oversees budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analytical processes that support informed decision-making across the organization. The role also focuses on advancing Flair's strategic financial goals while monitoring consumer trends and competitor activity across both Canadian airlines and global LCCs.


This position is based on-site at our offices in Edmonton (YEG).

A Day in the Life:



Acts as a strategic business partner to management and executives, jointly developing budgets, forecasts, reports, and analyses, and providing insights to support key business and financial decisions. Leads the annual Business Planning and Budget cycle, coordinating requirements across all business units and maintaining the overall planning calendar. Maintains financial models and ensures forecasting initiatives remain aligned with evolving business conditions. Leads meetings and presentations with internal Business Planning teams and Senior Management to communicate deliverables and results. Prepares recommendations and provides performance analysis and reporting, highlighting key business performance risks, issues, and opportunities for management. Serves as the company's subject matter expert in planning and budgeting, implementing best practices and providing ongoing analysis of business performance. Collaborates with Commercial and Revenue Management teams, leveraging data analytics to support sound revenue planning. Prepares the company's long-term financial forecasts, financial models, and valuations. Initiates analysis of monthly variances and partners with operational management, executives, and the Financial Reporting team to identify and resolve variances to plan. Provides recommendations related to revenue and cost drivers, as well as process improvement initiatives. Leads, develops, and manages a team of high-performing financial analysts and professionals. Develops and maintains dashboards and KPIs to support business analysis, including variance tracking, cost-saving initiatives, and revenue performance. Prepares monthly presentations summarizing financial results for executive management and the Board of Directors' committees. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education:

+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
+ MBA considered an asset.
+ Professional designation (CA, CPA, or CFA) required or strongly preferred.

Experience:

+ Minimum of 10 years of management experience in a senior financial planning and analysis (FP&A) role.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams within the FP&A function.
+ Extensive experience demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in managing complex financial issues.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and public company financial reporting practices.
+ Expert-level financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting skills.
+ Exceptional analytical ability with a focus on delivering insights to support executive decision-making.
+ Advanced understanding of financial and operational business management foundations.
+ Aviation industry experience is considered an asset.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
+ Articulate and persuasive communicator who builds confidence and credibility with financial peers, executive leadership, and business partners.

Requirements:

+ Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
+ Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
