POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, FP&A plays a critical role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to drive strategic decision-making and optimize performance. Reporting directly to the VP of FP&A, the Director has a strong background in finance, exceptional analytical and communication skills, and experience in the retail sector.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management Reporting: Lead the preparation and distribution of weekly and periodic performance measurement materials to various stakeholders, including Management and Board of Director presentations, highlighting insights into results and key drivers of variances to Budget and LY.
  • Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights and support to senior management in retail strategy development, including store expansion plans, store closures, and market penetration strategies.
  • Business Support: Directly support Central Operations, and Back Office (IT, HR, Finance etc.) leaders in analyzing and understanding their financial results as well as decision-making support to enable each area to meet or exceed Budget expectations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct analysis of results to understand and provide insights on drivers and trends of KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and strategic initiatives, and identify potential risks and opportunities on the horizon
  • Budgeting: Lead the annual Budget process including coordination of deliverables, timelines and required templates, as well as be an integral part of target setting and alignment to strategic initiatives
  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning, including new store pro forma analysis, ROI calculations, and scenario planning.
  • Cost Management: Identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve efficiency in retail operations, collaborating with operational teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency and enhance the quality of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required, providing actionable insights and recommendations to support retail initiatives and strategic decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (CPA, MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on retail operations and merchandising.
SKILLS
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and retail performance metrics.
  • Experience in the retail sector, with a deep understanding of retail-specific financial metrics and analysis techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and financial modeling.
  • Experience with MicroStrategy a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with remote teams.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and driving results in a retail setting.
