Position Summary:
As a member of our team, this individual will carry out research and documentation in conjunction with a variety of non-standard transactions, adoption of new accounting standards as well as general corporate accounting matters.
The ideal candidate has strong written and oral communication skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to multitask in order to effectively manage his or her time across various roles and responsibilities. In this role, the individual will report to the AVP, Accounting Policy.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Lead statutory reporting process (p&c1 completion and filing across canada, statutory audit, sas data inputs)
Quarterly board reporting
Supports chief risk officer (esg reporting, ORSA, key metrics report, osfi industry data calls)
Responsible for corporate tax provisions and returns
Lead audit process (internal, external audits research and document accounting memos
Coach and mentor junior staff
Required Skills and Abilities3+ years GAAP accounting experience in a similar role
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint; ability to model and create complex spreadsheets, look up tables, pivot tables, and understand/analyze the results
Excellent communication and organization skills
Strong knowledge of financial accounting for financial services
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working independently and as part of a team
Statutory accounting experience is a plus
EducationBachelor's Degree in Accounting

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$130,000 - $140,000/yearTotal individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
