Job Description


Our Corunna, ON Branch is looking for a Director of Environmental Compliance! The Director is responsible for Management of the compliance staff for a specific area of operations. This role will oversee the work of Compliance Managers and perform the functions of the Compliance Manager when there is no dedicated Compliance Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • General Regulatory Compliance.
  • Permit Compliance.
  • Compliance Documentation.
  • Training and Employee Development.
  • Regulatory Tracking of local, provincial and federal environmental regulations.
  • Positive reinforcement of Relationship Developments.
  • Completion of all assigned Customer Audits and Audit tours of plant.
  • Reports instances of non-compliance at the plant to Corporate and reports all emergency situations (spills, fires, releases, odors and incidents) to Corporate.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor\'s of Arts Degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred.
  • Ten Years of Compliance experience in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of Provincial, Transport Canada, and Environment Canada Regulations required.
  • Excellent Communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
