About the role




We are looking for an energetic Director to lead the creation of our Employee Relations Center of Expertise. This role will focus on cultivating employee relations expertise at Intact. The successful candidate will be charged with crafting and executing guidelines and resources to support the HR community with health and safety in a hybrid work setting, overseeing our Respect in the Workplace Program (including coordinating annual training initiatives) and guiding the investigations process (working closely with the business units and legal).

What you'll do here :





Employee Relations:



Establish and lead a Center of Expertise dedicated to Employee Relations, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives. Provide strategic direction on employee relations matters, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace. Develop comprehensive norms, guidelines, and tools for HR professionals to enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.

Health and Safety in a Hybrid World:



Working closely with the Facilities team:



+ Develop and implement health and safety guidelines that accommodate both remote and in-office work environments.
+ Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.

Respect in the Workplace Program:



Lead the Respect in the Workplace Program, promoting a culture of respect and inclusion across all levels of the organization. Oversee the Investigation Desk, ensuring timely and thorough investigations of workplace issues. Design and implement annual employee training programs focused on employee relations, health and safety, and respect in the workplace. Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to ensure training programs meet organizational needs and enhance employee skills.

Stakeholder Engagement:



Foster a collaborative environment and work closely with other HR functions, such as Legal, Business Unit HR leadership (including HRCs and HRBPs), HRMS, Talent Management, Compensation, L&D, Facilities H&S, Disability and Leave, HRDirect etc to ensure a holistic approach.

What you bring to the table :



Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in human resources, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on employee relations. Strong knowledge of employment law, health and safety regulations, and best practices in employee relations. Proven experience in developing and implementing HR programs and initiatives in a hybrid work environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives. Ability to think strategically, influence and translate strategy into actionable plans. Bilingualism (French / English) - Requirement to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
